The Counseling Centers of America® Opportunity

Counseling Centers of America provides a full spectrum of services to those of all ages throughout the community.  As you look through our brochures you will notice that we provide many different counseling services.  In addition, we also provide services to children, "at risk" youth, incarcerated youth, families in need, and seniors.  Our programs assist clients in removing obstacles to self sufficiency.  Our funding applications are targeted to supply stability in and further development to our programs.

Our SchoolBell™ program has recently completed construction of six new wireless computer stations to accommodate youth online school requirements.  The SchoolBell™ program provides early education skills assessments, tutoring assistance in remedial programs, and financial assistance in academic training through our scholarship awards program.

Due to the recent release of state statistics of juvenile recidivism, interest has been taken in our Chain-Breakers™ and MatchLites™ programs which recruits, educates, and trains volunteers for long-term commitments to visitations of our incarcerated youth.

Our Oak Tree™ program provides opportunity for our seniors to become actively involved in and advisors to all our programs.

Our Baby's Room™ and Laundry Basket™ programs provides resources with a view to assistance in teen pregnancies and young motherhood such as parenting classes, baby furniture, clothing and other infant care necessities.

Our Young American™ program is an exercise in community civics where youth participate in activities which benefit the community as well as learn of their nations' constitution.  We provide resources which engender better life skills management giving them healthy social activity options.

Our Cycling Now! ™ program provides health and nutrition education and opportunities in exercise through the local cycling club.

KidsFest™ is our annual children's awareness event where children in the community are rewarded for their efforts in community service, arts, crafts, music and literature ~ celebrating cultural diversity.

The Counseling Centers of America® History, Vision and Mission

Our Motivation

Faith.... "It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it." Luke 13:19

Our History

Founded in 2002, by Mrs. Phoebe Ruth Simmons (HeartSong Ministries), Counseling Centers of America, a 501c3 non-profit public benefit corporation, has been offering counseling services on a donation-only basis. It's vision and mission was to not only provide counseling but also to provide training for those interested in becoming a counselor and to offer client support.

2003-2006, through its founder's efforts, Counseling Centers of America expanded its counseling and counselor training influence to Alaska, Ohio, and Idaho.

January 2007, Michael & Vivien Maguire and Mrs. Lee Adams took the helm, and through their ministerial associations with ALFI and COLMWW, they had expanded its influence to ministers, their spouses and congregations in Africa, Asia, Europe, Canada and America through counseling, support, participation in ministerial selection and licensure processes and providing training materials.

Spring 2007, Mrs. Lee Adams co-developed the SchoolBell™ program; introducing the 'Tutor-Tots™ pre-school child development remedy determined by a child's results from the CCA Early Childhood Education Inventory (EESI); and the CCA Adult Education Scholarship Awards program through an arrangement with Stratford Career Institute. In the summer of 2007, Mrs. Sally McGrath completed the SchoolBell™ package with the introduction of Connections Academy, an online 1 thru 12 grade public education institution.

CCA now had a complete K-thru-Adult education assistance package to offer the community.

January 2008, Mrs. Sally McGrath co-developed the Chain-Breakers™ youth visitation volunteer program for incarcerated youth and launched the program nationally in August 2008; presently directing the local Grants Pass, Oregon chapter.

2008, brought an even broader understanding and view of the vision and mission with:

  • re-directing its counselor training concerns to the Faith Based Counselor Training Institute and Canyon Creek Seminary
  • narrowing training support and internship at the local level
  • establishing its vision and mission influence footprint on the Web
  • developing assist programs with expansion capabilities

In keeping with this mission and vision to build a nationwide referral and support community for certified faith-based counselors, COUNSELING CENTERS OF AMERICA, provided faith-based counselors throughout America an opportunity to list and have at their disposal accredited educational and certification opportunities. Through its association with the Faith Based Counselors Association of America, CCA is realizing this goal.

In further keeping with its mission, CCA is developing and providing nationwide distribution of successful client-end workbook programs such as the: Just Plain Angry™ - Anger Management Program, 'Free At Last' - Chemical Dependency Management Programs, 'This is My Chair' - Personal Significance Program, MatchLites™ - faith-based correspondence studies for incarcerated youth and Chain-Breakers™ A Youth Visitation Volunteer Certification Program.

As these programs and their workbooks are made ready for publication, they will be available for purchase in the members section on the CCA Website.

Our Vision

By providing mental health services to individuals, couples, children and groups on a donation basis to anyone regardless of ethnic background, religion, sexual preference or ability to make a donation; by being a resource through programs or referral in assisting those who come to us; and by providing training for those interested or furthering their studies in counseling and related services, we are well-situated to encourage soundness of mind, emotional stability and good citizenship within the community.

Our Mission

CCA mission is to meet the necessities of the community without judgment, by offering programs that suit the communities needs educationally, physically, mentally, spiritually, practically, financially, and lovingly.
